I appreciate this may seem a little early as Falmouth has only just finished and the Poole Extravaganza is yet to be enjoyed, however as with the spring event we need a set number of entries to enable the event to proceed so you need to get it in your diary and post your entry ASAP
‘Last Chance’ Autumn Test Day in the South
Get a last run out on the water on Sunday 2nd November the venue is Ivy Lake (the home of Chichester Water Ski Club) at Chichester, West Sussex.
The launching fee will be £25/boat. To secure your place please contact me via PM with your Email address for an entry form.
Early entry is imperative as The CMBA together with Chichester waterski club have set a minimum number of entries required to enable the event to proceed. If this number is not met by October 19th we will unfortunately be forced to cancel and return fees.
We will have use of the lake all day until late afternoon/dusk, launching will be DIY and there is room for all boats on pontoon moorings. Facilities ashore on the grassed area around the pontoons are basic with just Portaloos. There is no on site overnight camping, but there are lots of local campsites adjacent for those who want to or are daft enough to camp.
Please send me a PM with your personal email address, I can then send you an entry form.
See you there .

Re: Ivy Lake Nov 2nd Tacho loan wanted
Hi Everyone
If you're coming to Ivy Lake and have an inductive tacho (one that's self powered & picks up from a wire wound around a spark plug lead) if possible and you're willing...could I borrow it for 10 mins at Ivy Lake, I'm hoping (again) to run the Merc Mk40H on 'Colliwobble' and since everything is modified/unknown I really, really, really, don't want to blow it up by over reving it! assuming it runs in the first place!
PM if you can help or just bring it along...thanks guys
Cheers

Sorry, only just seen your email - I have one (or rather the CMBA has) but it no longer works, I think the pickup is suspect.
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

Floater, Thanks for organising this one again! Despite the weather, was great to be on the water and catch up with the usual suspects and meet others. With the absence of freshwater here, it's a great venue that we need to keep going.

Re: Ivy Lake Nov 2nd
The weather was a little daunting but it didn't stop the enjoyment and general socialising and although we decided not to launch it gave me the opportunity to obtain a couple of new members and talk to others that I had not seen for a little while. A big thank you to Floater for organising it once again and I agree with Rapier it would be a great shame to loose this very nice area of water.

Re: Ivy Lake Nov 2nd
Mud glorious MUD!!! In typical CMBA style the rather damp weather didn't dampen spirits at Ivy Lake yesterday. As others have said most of the usual suspects were there along with some new & less seen faces, although its fair to say not all who entered arrived with a boat - understandably given the, at times, atrocious conditions.
We were treated to the sound of Healey 75's Mercury MK40H running on megaphones which was impressive from a noise point of view to say the least - but deafening! Sadly it wasn't successful on the water this time but it was its first time out.
My journey home was equally horrendous weather wise with the addition of thunder & lightning to the torrential rain, but all the mud as well as the Falmouth salt are long gone from the trailer!
As ever many thanks to Floater for organising it all, as well has helping launch & recovery all day. I bet he slept well last night!
