Looks a nice project boat, I'm not an Albatross expert but it looks nice and original to me, good history as well, exhaust pipe looks interesting, re the engine I know where there may be one (unmarinised) available in the CMBA. Good luck on the bidding

Nice one Glynn. There are many Albatross owners in the club, so am sure you'll find the required bits.

...and I was considering writing a witty comment like... "is it too much to ask for a proper clutch and reverse gear..." forgive me

Glynn, bidder 9 was enthusiastic, wonder who he/she was...Since ebay stopped showing bidder IDs I have been very suspicious of activity like that. Still, you can be sure that they monitor for it, so is likely to legitimate.

I only went the "non-original route" becasue the boat came with a crossflow and I thought I would keep it!

For both crossflow and pre-crosflow work I can thoroughly recommend Newark Engines.

Please keep in touch, mine is A27

Chris

PS Don't listen to them when they say "don't sandblast" - I spent about £100 on paint stripper and god know how many man hours!!!
