At last - I have finished the Mk15a - and added it to the collection - and they all run..
Some fanatics may not like the Decals - but the important thing to me is that they run - engage gear smoothly and look half decent
The white Autotrannies are finished in 2 pack Epoxy (VW Cashmire White) over etching primer and I believe I have a full hp set.......... (or at least enough for the time being).......
1959 - Mk15a - 15hp autotranny
1960 - Merc 100 - 9.8hp autotranny
1961 - Merc 200 - 22hp autotranny
1962 - Merc 250 - 25hp autotranny
Plus 3 sets of restored white merc remotes for the autotrannies and two tiller handles
1966 - Merc 350 - 35hp - currently on my Pearly Miss
1987 Mercury 35 hp - destines for a With Vitsi
and a 1952 Penta U22 - 15hp twin - (and I'm still looking for a suitable Banana boat to put it on (Se7en)

That's an impressive line up - I would like to have seen 'before n after' shots - they look factory fresh.

Regarding your comment about the non original paint , I think I prefer a nice paint job to a rough original (that should fire up the purists ) Very nice line up

Floater - the secret is retirement - (you have a way to go yet), and I don't know how I ended up with so many outboards - give me a proper inboard any day - and I can always hang one of these "temporary" food mixer things on the back for when I need some exercise, - pulling on a starter rope...........
Any know of a reliable 10-20hp classic outboard with an electric starter?

It's a personal thing - each to his/her own and all that stuff - but I like to put classic engines on classic boats - and to that end I have been looking for a small engine for river use and a back-up to the 50 or 35 on the Vitsi............this came into my hands at the weekend and I am delighted with a well built small engine - no tin or plastic just old school Mercury engineering - 1964 - (50 years old) - only f/w use and with 90% original paintwork and the crankcase seal intact - Rapier tells me they are know as "the iron horse" in the USA The Mariner 45 (Although not a pre 75 engine but still the old inline 4 cyl Merc) came to me a few weeks back in boxes - with knackered mid section and long shaft, but now rebuilt as a short shaft engine and purrs like HRH ( sorry)
