Delta V6 - Engine / prop shaft alignment

Hi,
Can anyone tell me the best way to align engine and prop shaft on my 1977 Delta V6 ?
I believe with the Albatross there is a small hole in the bulkhead that aligns with crankshaft, unfortunately mine has a removable inspection panel there instead and no alignment hole.
When I had the engine out a few years ago I just put everything back as it was (same shims on same engine mounts), the shaft was pretty good with no tight spots. The boat is being well used at the moment and when I checked the other day there seems to be a slight tight spot when turning the prop shaft hence wanting to check alignment.
