Does anyone recognise this engine?

Post by Thrubwell58 »

I was fortunate to discover some drawings today which date from the mid 1950's. I am unsure if the boat was ever built (it is a drawing from a commercial boatbuilder of the time), but I am intrigued if anyone can identify the powerplant that was proposed/used, from the drawing?

love this - Late 1959 VP advertising footage - they tested the later 200 drives using aluminium boats driven over anchored telegragh poles!

Outline of the engine and drive look like Volvo AQ95/100 to AQ120/100 family (same as my '64 Fjord). Though the outline looks like a single down draught carb. Fits with Solitaire's comment above on 1959 VP advertising.
