Coventry Victor MW2

Post by KeithM »

I am about to commence a restoration of my first Motor Boat (I normally use sails!). It has a two cylinder water cooled Coventry victor engine. The magneto is producing electricity but I can not get the spark plugs to produce a spark. I am earthing the plug to the engine when I try. The attached picture shows a red cable highlighted by an arrow that comes out of the other end of the magneto. This is currently not attached to anything. Should it be? If anyone can throw any light on this (or better still lives somewhere close to Backwell near Bristol!) I would be delighted to hear from you.

That might be the earth to stop wire. Make sure it's not touching anything and try again.
