I have an Albatross Mk3 with a 100E fitted. The boat is largely original, which is nice. However.....
I've been looking at the possibility of fitting a Coventry Climax, an ex-fire pump engine. From a variety of car sites it seems there are afair number of mods necessary to convert the engine. However I can find very little information on this engines fitment into an Albatross - detail on things like the thrust bearing.
So my qustions are - what specialist bits and pieces are necessary and are they in any way available? or do drawings exist which would allow them to be fabricated?

Contact John at Albatross Marine (see the links page on the CMBA website for details) - he should be able to help. The fire pump engine was different (smaller) than the unit fitted to the Albatross though.
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

You need a front
cover prop drive
front pulley
The front cover has a housing that takes a double thrust bearing. prop drive which has a gear on it to drive the cam chain. you will have to fabricate the sump i do not know of any one who has a spare one at the moment.
