Hello all, I have just found this site on the web and would like to ask you for some information if possible.
I have just inherited a 14ft Delta speedboat with an aluminium hull and 1600 Ford crossflow engine.

The engine requires some attention. I am looking for a source for engine parts, mainly impeller and clutch kit.

Thanks in advance

Charlie

Hello Charlie & welcome to the site.

I am not a Delta man myself but there are many out there lurking so you should get someone popping up with the info you require.

Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

Hello Charlie
We do have a number of Delta owners and one or two suppliers/repaires on board. Easiest way to get access to these and lots of help and advice is to join the Association. We think it is good value at £30 to joinand currently £25 anually.I have an aluminium Delta Sports and we have nearly 80 Delta owners listed as members.

Thanks for your replys.
I will join your association in due course. I have a few projects on the go at the moment which takes up most of my spare time. I am unsure whether to continue with the Delta. This all depends on the availability and cost of the parts in order to make her safe for use again. I really like the layout and would dearly love to see the boat on the water once again.
Is there a supplier in the UK for engine components for the Delta set up?

The aluminium Delta is worth saving ! as most of them are fibreglass , As for engine spares these are not difficult to find as the crossflow was in the capri ,escort, fiesta , cortina etc etc . Your local motor spares shop will have what you want or can get what you want , your impellor will probably be a jabsco these are readily available .
Join the CMBA it is money well spent with an excellent magazine !
