Still...it will keep you warm twice.....once cutting it up...and once burning it........

Just think, fully restored you could ask £42½K for it!
. . . . . . . . but probably wouldn't get it!!

I hope my new Alpine floats better than my old one!
Re: Is this pile of sticks a Healey?
It's a Healy 55, a fair price for a project boat bearing in mind it has some original bits on, they don't come up often. These had a Austin Healey Marine engine which was the 1500 MGA engine. MGB engine will/should fit but beware later engines have a different flywheel and starter. I replaced my 1600 MGA engine with a 1800 MGB in the later Healey 75 which had the Borg Warner box. This will have a Morris Navigator box with a Healey badge on...hope it helps
Growing up is optional...

Many thanks for the confirmation.
Shehas not been purchased yet. However i have been given permission to enter negotiations by the other half! The owner also has a two seater albatros and a four seater albatros but sadly not for sale as they are in fairly reasonable condition.
Has anyone attempted such a total rebuild?
Considering i have not done any major carpentry for 18 years i am starting to wonder about my sanity!

Hi stratfordrapier, My boat is a total build and I would say I am only a DIY carpenter. If you love the boat looks and style you could use it as a template boat and just copy all the frames and rebuild the boat. If you just want a boat and not a name have a look at some of these http://www.glen-l.com/ my one is a Malahini and you can see it in "customer photos" I think it would be easier to build from plans than trying to do a total rebuild but if that's what you want and the wife is ok with it anything is possible.
What ever you decide I am sure you will get all the help you need to get on the water.
