My grandparents had a few boats. The one in the foreground was a Shorts flyingboat wing float..for security had padlocked panels over the deck - they're on the side of the river. I think motor is a small Sea King / Firestone..supplied to Montgomery Wards or Sears, by OMC and other makers. The other ali boat is powered by a 1956 Evinrude Big Twin 30 and the gameviewer a 1930s opposed twin Johnson. I think that's Knife, who died in an accident during the Hell Run in the late 60's. These were taken about 1957 at the family cottage on the Kafue River in colonial Northern Rhodesia (was part of a Federation of Rhodesias and Nyasaland, but now called Zambia).

Having said that I think it was still legal to hunt crocs then...that was done with lights, but those opposed twin Johnsons make a racket, so doubtful.
