Hi,
Can anyone post a good picture, with dimensions, of a genuine Albatross bow pennant?
I have a friend who owns a flag making company and would like to investigate whether it is viable to make a short run of them.
I will post my findings, in the meantime any interest shown would be appreciated.
Chris

Oh, forgot about that, does that mean the boats should have an ensign on the rear flagpole then ??

Certainly does - talk to Rod Champkin, he's got copies of the original ally stern flag "pole" (I've just bought one!!)Sandymac wrote:Oh, forgot about that, does that mean the boats should have an ensign on the rear flagpole then ??

I have a pennant somewhere, a member had a few printed many years ago and this was one. It has the 'side-badge' logo in silver on a navy blue background.Sea-Jay wrote:Hi,

I'll hunt for it and scan it.

Better still - here's a genuine original pennant.
The original was photocopied some years back, when I was planning to embroider some replicas, but these came out too stiff.
It's 5" high, 10-3/8" long plus 1/2" for the binding, not shown on scan. Printed - may have been white - on navy blue cotton bunting, handed pair, sewn back to back. The pennant was then wired to the turned aluminium staff which plugged into the bow light.
Let me know if anybody needs the file emailed.
If I can find the dimensions I should be able to machine the staff in aluminium.
Comments or info invited!

Re: Albatross Bow Pennant
Thanks for that Rod, do you think it could have been silver on navy blue?
I will talk to my pal this week and see how many/how much to make a small run.
Quality will NOT be a problem, this company makes Royal standards for the Queen – including the 38 foot one flown over Windsor Castle!!
