Hi, I believe i have just bought 1 :chuffed: originally purple top gold bottom both with metal flake/metallic with an 85hp merc on the back, to be honest i wasn't buying it knowing what it was I bought it for the engine & trailer so will be up for sale once given a little tidy up, but is in need of someone really keen to bring it back to its full glory... gorgeous shape & looks like it would cut through the waves lovely :wot:

the purple and gold Romney raider was specially ordered for my father. We used Romney boats in the British waterski race championships in the late 60’s and 70’s
It was originally called “HellzaPoppin” but had a bigger mercury when we owned it.
My father was one of their few agents and sold Romney boats from his marine store in Hartlepool. We were also involved in the round uk race in the early 70’s but unfortunately had problems with our 28’ Romney and never left the start line.
We ski raced with three Romney’s in the late 60’s early 70’s I raced behind the purple gold one many times as we competed around the U.K.
