Following last years'gathering in June 2019 (5 boats, 11 people) we will be running the same format again this year. MDL Mercury has recently confirmed they can accommodate us subject to: *.

So, please let me know if you can attend - including any crew - and let me know boat size and number of days, in order to plan moorings. Payment will be due to the Marina before the weekend now.
Dates: 24th, 25th & 26th July, 2020
Where: Hamble-le-Rice, Hampshire
Tides (add 1 hour for BST) and local information: https://tides.willyweather.co.uk/se/ham ... ledon.html
Or
http://southamptonweather.co.uk/tides/tidetables.php
Boating Waters: River Hamble, River Itchen, Beaulieu River / Bucklers Hard, Southampton Water, Solent and a trip to Cowes, IOW (all weather dependent)
Challenge: Although both rivers and Southampton Water can be calm, gIven the nature of the tides and sea (plus commercial traffic) around the Solent, this event will fall under the CMBA's 'Challenging' category (details in the club magazine).
Mooring facilities: Mercury Marina - finger pontoons or double rafting up a push - self launch /recovery, trailer storage and mooring cost around £79 each boat (ca. 4m mooring), for the 3 days (less £, if your stay is shorter..). Map of the venue is here:-

** Accommodation in and around Hamble is always very busy, so I encourage early booking. The B&Bs and campsites below are within a few minutes drive of the slipway and Club, but Hotels are out of the way and they will charge typical coastal rates in the summer. I've stayed in Farthings - a 2min walk to the Hamble Village centre and pubs / restaurants. The campsite next to Mercury Marina (now owned by them) is about 15-20mins walk from the village centre, but proved a good choice for Vans, RVs and they can cope with tents too.
Accommodation - Royal Southern Yacht Club

The RSrnYC has excellent facilities, a very pleasant and large bar with terrace, plus great views over the river and moorings.
Farthings B&B Hamble

Farthings is a friendly family run Guest House in an individual architect designed home. Run by family friends Jo and Ian Straker.
Compass Point B&B Hamble
Opposite a number of pubs and restaurants in the centre of the old village, so is busy,

Camping and /or motorhomes / caravanning - here are 2 good sites within a 6mins drive from Mercury Marina:-
http://www.sunnydalefarm.co.uk/
Airbnb - most will be within walking distance to the marina of 15-20minutes (avoid south of Hamble Lane up to Copse Lane - these suffer from all night industrial noise from Cooper Vision / GE / BP & late night HGV fuel tanker traffic and shipping bulk oil carrier discharging)

Riverside Holidays - Campsite owned by MDL & next door to Mercury Marina. They take RVs, Vans and Tents. Deposit will be required and checkout would be around 11am on the 21st, parking is available at Mercury.

Hi! I’m keen and interested in this event, I confess I’m not currently a member, so of course I’d join. I’m local, can attend daily and have a mooring available further up river. It would be me in my ‘64 Fjord 21 and some family (which ever combination of wife and kids want to join).
What’s the latest plan? Is the event going ahead? How do I officially sign up?

Hi Plasticbadger,
Welcome to the fold, hopefully! Please see on the website the section 'How to become a member' which should take you through the process. This year is a weird one for all of us to say the least and we have not been able to have a Rally so far for obvious reasons. As you are local to the venue you are well placed to attend and we are hoping we can proceed within the Gov guidelines applicable at the time. Cheers. Kgarla.(Chairman)

Hi - I had put my name down to come 19-20th, but what is the current view with no overnights being possible (don’t think the plan is to lift those before July?) for those travelling a distance, could we join for 1 day, or leave the boat afloat and come back the following day? Keeping everything crossed!
Rescheduled 5th Hamble Rally - 24th / 25th / 26th July 2020
