Re: Chrome.
I started preparing my boat's hull last week and just got the first coat of paint on. Below the water line has been primed and will get the anti fouling applied in about six days time. I hope to be in the water by Easter - fingers crossed!

Re: Chrome.
Any advice on painting in the name "Broom" on the rear of my hull? Is a steady hand all that it takes or maybe a surrounding template and a wee radiator roller?
I've tried to upload a picture, but the site wont let me - anyone know why?
Cheers.

Re: Chrome.
Picture size too big??
Is the 'Broom' lettering moulded into the hull? If not I have a man who has the logo in stick-on form, I may even have a spare in black.

Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

Re: Chrome.
The logo is moulded into the hull and raised a few mm's - hence me thinking a steady hand will do the job.
Thanks for the offer of a stick on set, though!
The picture size isn't the problem - it may be something at my end; I'll try again.

Re: Chrome.
An idea that might work.Take an imprint of the decal in putty or plasticine, ink it, print on light card, cut out the white bits and card should match decal, roll or spray. I did something like this when I was spraying the decals on my 1969 merc800 because I couldn't locate new ones. But thank you, I got the name of that guy in Canada from this thread.
no matter how bad it is,it can always get worse,I'm an optimist
