I have a cable driven rev counter with a three to one reduction drive just interested any one else got this type of thing with there boat.andy b

Yes - and John Fildes at Albatross Marine has originals and electronic replicas for sale with three different rev ranges if I remember correctly.

It's amazing the difference with these boats, is yours a direct cable drive or does it have a gear reduction and where is it driven from.

As said, that's from Happyguts's Alpine (2010) not either of mine (2002 & 2003) and it's driven from the normal tacho. drive on the Sunbeam Alpine engine which is a skew gear off the distributor drive.

The odd thing is that it only reads up to 5,000 although that engine is red-lined nearer 6,000.
