Here's another link to Aquacraft Avenger / Attacker and a vid of one running at Wellington Park in 2007 before we scared the fishermen.

There is one in the club but I haven't seen it for few years, he used to bring it to the wellington Park meets. He had an Attacker (outboard version) as well.
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

All sanded back ready for coating before the paint and varnish but sadly the weather has got in the way of progress. I'm waiting for a temperature rise so the epoxy will actually flow.
Have sourced a Honda 20, which should cover all the bases use wise, and have decided to tuck the small battery in the bow for balance.
My plans for a Torqueedo electric outboard faltered on cost, to get any sort of range at speed it would have needed lithium batteries costing thousands.
Still like the idea though and may re-visit it in a few years.

Looks really nice. Love the look of unvarnished wood. If only it would stay like that. Great progress, keep it up.

Thanks for the encouraging words.
Not much epoxy weather so I moved onto other things.
Gentle restoration of the steering wheel

And dry fitting the engine.
Not a classic I know but it suits my purpose.

Battery is tucked in the bow and I was really pleased to find it balanced out. I'd done a lot of 'back of an envelope' moment calculations but until the engine was put on I wasn't sure it would be OK.

Can tell it's to cold for the epoxy, the garage looks to clean to say boat work has been going on. :D

Love the steering wheel, is the boat going to be varnished all over or will the sides be painted?

The wheel is fab and gives plenty of room for my knees I'm sure it will provide many comical moments when in use!

Sides will be white, I think, as the wood's not quite lovely enough for varnish.

Almost May and epoxy temperatures nowhere in sight...
Kicking my heels a bit I dry fitted the windscreen for fun.

The boat is really looking great and that Honda will make it go really well (and be frugal).

Here's the scan of the steering wheel decal - it's 9mm wide by 90mm long, though slightly convex and the gold is not smooth. The wheel itself is a pain...having used one it can best be described as a ladder without rungs and the unwary are left conducting an orchestra. It is a very rare version of the fullsize Attwood - they're not modified; yours in the only other I've seen in the UK despite scouring jumbles for years and have only seen a handful on sites in the states.
