OK, next question, should a hole be patched from the inside or outside?
Also, will 5hp be enough for the first few trips pottering on the canal (I'm thinking way too far in advance I know  )

Thanks again :)

Inside
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

Thanks for the advice guys.

I received my 2m sq fibreglass patch/repair kit today. Am I right in thinking:

Remove old/broken fibreglass
Clean area with acetone
Paint resin around the edges
Layer CSM with resin on each layer.
Leave to cure
Put surface tissue on top with more resin.

Thanks in advance :)

Sorry for the lack of updates. I started some fibreglass work yesterday, I'll get some photos up if it ever stops raining

I'll be doing more work over the next week, then I am on holiday for 2 weeks, then I have five weeks free :chuffed:
