Looks it to me Fergal. Rapier's your man though.
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

It's a Saro Terrapin. Difficult to see properly but they're hard to find in that condition; unlike the Pearly Miss up against the wall, the Terrapin is made from stretched ali and most I see are dented from years of dragging up beaches. Dates from about 1958/9...original steering wheel and looks like it once had an omc on the back.

Of course it is, I was only looking at one a week ago.

Similar design, also worthwhile having and another stalwart of a few CMBA rallies...

Re: Is this a pearly miss
My fifteen year old son is the proud owner of the Saro Terrapin that you guys so correctly identified. She is in very good condition and we have not put any work into it as we are in the middle of a wheelhouse re-build on our canal barge which will finish by April 14th. She was taken outside and washed a week or two ago and apart from chasing an o/b ( 25hp Johnson on the way) it is still in mothballs for another month. A few pics of her in the open air and our thanks for your help so far.
