lovely old film.. but the engine the huffman is in the stern, and the bow is very different.. im assuming it the open launch that features in most of the film you refer to?

Progress at last.. some sunshine an a calm river...

didnt take on much water, and looked great... back the farm, and scratch my head over the electrical installation mag!!!!

hi, just finished off, before off to Beale Park. Hope she is looking better than before... ive put in the 2 bench seat, instead of 1 bench and 2 Lloyd looms ... bowed under pressure.. ( you know who you are!! )

This bit is un-fitted yet.. giving me a headache!!!!

Beautiful job Neil - I'm sure old man Hobb's would have given you a chippies job at Meakes in the "ol days" (4 pounds and 10 shillings aweek when I started my aprentiship in 65, plus another 10 bob a week time keeping bonus if we beat the clock every day) - Not sure if Sea Saga was the last - or the last but one (I think the last was Gay Marion?)
p.s. I did get called out to one of the 36's when a shaft broke it's lock bolt, when the owner put it in reverse in Hambledon lock, the shaft disapeared down the tube until it hit the rudder - luckilly for him - one of his glass decanter tops fitted the stern tube gland perfectly, and stoped the water ingress!!!!!!!

What a beautiful restoration!
Do you know if the lights are original to the boat? You may have given me a lead on my restoration, as I have no idea of the make of mine; only that she came from Germany and she has the same lights as your Hoffman!

hi
the lights we share, are a generic aluminum light, sold to many boat builders.. very popular on Andrews slippers..
orginally they had coloured glass lenses ( mine stil does ).. but most have broken, and have been replaced with grp or plastic...
sorry not much help.
