Grendon lakes, Northampton - Camping weekend

Post by stratfordrapier »

Dear all

I have found a watersports lake near Northampton that have a campsite and clubhouse (with bar, restraunt and showers). They are prepared to let us have a lake and facilities for a weekend.

In order to work out costs i have been asked to get rough numbers of boats/campers and how much time we would require on the lake so that they can give me a price.

Would i have any takers for an inland midlands meet?

Thanks

Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

Excellent news.

The site have conformed that they are happy for us to attend and to camp. They want numbers and how long we would like on the lakes so that they can work out prices. As for dates it will propbably have to be early September time as i have a small person about to drop and i might not be allowed out for a while.

Would also like to do a Stratford upon avon river meet sometime, there is an easy slipway and i have room to store several boats under lock and key (about 15 mins tow away) if people want to stay down in a B&B. There is a river festival on the 2nd and 3rd July which is always a good laugh http://www.stratfordriverfestival.co.uk/

Regards

Tim

Simmonds fitted from new with what, I believe, is the only running factory marinised Daimler 2.5 litre V8 (as fitted to the Daimler SP 250) in the UK. Please let me know if you find another! Believed to be Norman Buckley's race boat.

Good find!!
I,m certainly up for this one! (just need to solve a carb flooding problem) - looks like it's nice and central - google earth even shows some boats playing on the lakes
