Lough Corrib, West of Ireland

Post by knarloid »

If we hadn't whetted you appetities for a trip to Ireland, here's some photos from the Club Powerboat.ie opening season meet on Lough Corrib last weekend.
Conditions could not have been better, and we had a great turnout. The only Classics from here in attendance were myself (but with engine troubles), Sean-Nos and T15 (who brought his rib). So many boats are off topic - but we're only discussing venues, so enjoy the scenery. :perfect:

West Wind had to stay at base for the weekend after we discovered she wouldn't run under load on morning 1.
Huge thanks to Mr and Mrs T15 for towing me back in and then letting me hitch a ride for the day.

Sean-Nos looked great at speed, and took it all in his stride

Perfect conditions

The conditions were perfect for 95+mph

You lucky buggers!

I think we need to try & get a few of us together from over here next year & make a holiday of it - if we are allowed in of course being of the same nationality as a certain gentleman that went by the name of Cromwell! :hmmm:
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

You're always welcome.
2 of us can always provide character references where required.

It wouldn't take much to plan a 1 week visit and pull in 2-3 locations over here. We know of 2 venues here now (this thread and the Lough Derg thread) that suit where there are good options on accomodation beside launch sites. They both suit group gatherings. ( :drink: )

As for Cromwell.......let sleeping dogs lie :pirate:

Hi
It looks a very nice venue, and It doesn't look like your bothered with insensible speed limits :pirate:. I would like to come across the water for a bit of quality boating, so if you can organise something, count me in. :perfect:
