Re: Finally coughed up the membership money

Hi Rapier Thanks for the welcome and posting the Anchorage ad, (I've never seen one before), I'm pretty sure the Healey is genuine, although i've seen photos of the attacker and they are pretty similar (same designer and factory I believe) but, it has some little clues like the bow handle is the sam...

Finally coughed up the membership money

Hello All, Been Stalking these forums for a few years now so thought it only fair to cough up some cash for membership, I have two ongoing projects, an anchorage 17 sportsman with VP AQ 115 inboard and an outboard plywood boat which i'm fairly confident is the ultra rare '56 Healey Ski-Master, the h...

Re: steering cable pulleys

Hi,
Give Cornwall boat parts a try on 01326 373032, they're forever scrapping old boats of all descriptions, I'll be amazed if they don't have any.

Re: Newbie Alert!

Although I'm no wood expert I'm pretty sure i'm right in thinking that the Boesch is plywood and the Capri is planked, and for me that would be the deal breaker, although the Capri is the Prettier boat I can imagine that keeping those planks closed tight all the time is a pain and then the varnish s...

Re: Cutlass bearing for Albatross or Delta?

Hi,
Are you sure its 20mm, most older shafts are 3/4 or 19mm and 1" OD = 25.4mm, if that''s the case you want these guys

http://www.countrose.com/content/standard_sizes.asp

Unless the Albatross / Delta guys out there know of some reason not to fit a modern water lubed high speed bearing.

Re: re engine of my boat

I'm pretty sure there was a marinised version of this engine back in the 1980s "Sword Marine" rings a bell, cast into the manifolds. I remember seeing what looked like a later version of an Almarine meteor with one in coupled to a jet drive. It was apparently one of a few that Peter De Savary had bu...

Re: Volvo Penta Aq171c exhaust wanted

If You decide to swap your engine the AQ 131/151/ series will drop straight in (much easier for parts), also these guys http://www.turbobricks.com will pay real good money for your old block as it is about the strongest block, crank and piston set up for that engine series that volvo ever did, their...

Re: Poor spark possibly leading to missfire, HELP

Have seen similar problems when there has been damp or chafed insulation in the engine stop circuit or kill switch causing a "partial" grounding of the stop wire, might be worth a check. Failing that I would post on the Boatmad forums or similar where there are a lot of ex racers who have a lot of k...

Re: New Rubbing Strip for Delta

Apologies for the delay, Not been on here for a while, I have bought various types from them over the years, the ally extrusion with rubber insert type is fairly malleable but you should mark out the mid point on a length and rivet it on the apex of the bow then work back, if you end up close to the...
