Re: BRITISH ANZANI OUTBOARD
FWIW I paid £60 for a British Anzani Super Single in running order - still with most of the decals in place. This is the very dated outboard which was the mainstay of their production - about 5hp, so a lot bigger than the Pilot which is I think 1.5hp.

Re: help
My father had a Capri for a short period with a Scott 45hp. He replaced it with the smaller model Toby (cannot remember the model) and then started racing it with a 75hp Scott. He very briefly held the unofficial Irish waterspeed record at 60 something mph using that combination! 40hp would be more ...

Re: Inherited Speedboat
Definitely a Microplas - my father used to race against them! Go surprisingly well with 25hp but very flat bottomed so a hard ride at any speed. The best part is that your boat still has the orignal moulded seats. Even back then they were a bit prone to be damaged so lovely to see it still intact. F...

Re: Toby Marine
I've pencilled in Falmouth - always assuming I can get my Albatross to run reliably! so it would be good to meet up and see the boat.

My father used to race one of these boats in the early sixties (well actually two of them I seem to remember!) in Eire. Cold moulded with round bilges, quite 'traditional' looking late fifties boats, built I believe in Devon. The first was a 'Capri' about 15 foot and considered by him to be a little...
Re: Bristols
Cannot really help but your post did spark a few memories. My father used to race speedboats in Eire. At that time 62/64 most of the activity was at Broad Meadows just north of Dublin. The first Bristol in Eire arrived in 63/4, owned by a chap called Joe Acton and powered by the then brand new(?) 10...

Re: Albatross oil cooling
I have a MkIII, it has the standard coil in the sump arrangment. It does not seem to work at the moment, the inlet seems to have been chopped off nearly flush with the bottom.
There are some pictures on the Albatross Register site showing the arrangement.

Dateline Bikini jet
Holidays often provoke some decisions and it has in my case. My Dateline Bikini project is for sale. Cosmetically scruffy it is in good mechanical condition (oil pressure, temps, jet unit). The hull has a few scars but with careful filing and oxalic acid should not need to be painted. The topside ha...
