Insurance requires survey

My insurance company ( GJW ) has just dropped a bombshell on me stipulating that an “ out of water exhaustive inspection “ by a qualified marine surveyor is required before they will renew my policy . Also they require an estimate on the current market value ??? As most of the CMBA members will know...

A Thank you from HRH Prince Charles

Just thought I’d post a picture I’ve just seen on an online national newspaper of HRH Prince Charles sending a heartfelt thank you to all the Royal fans who sent their condolences for HRH Prince Philip, out of all the thousands of photographs to choose from, isn’t it fabulous for the Prince to send ...

Marina 14 project

Here is a relatively straight forward project, it’s a Marina 14 , year unknown, late 70s / early 80s I would think, just thought I’d put it on here in case a CMBA member would be interested before I go down the route of the infamous “ flea bay “ . The trailer is “ not roadworthy “ the original scree...

Re: What Battery

Optima battery purchased from Tayna batteries in Abergele and now on boat, rang them up, told them what purpose the battery was for, it arrived on the doorstep within 48hrs. Sterling service, although it wasn’t cheap, but from past experience, buy cheap buy twice. ;)

Re: What Battery

Very interesting information Alacrity and thanks for sharing, my Merc. 80 is 1977( ish) so definitely falls in that bracket of engines you were referring to. Will contact Tayna in Abergele and see what they have in the range with Optima leisure batteries .

What Battery

After the long hard winter, one of my tired batteries has decided to call it a day despite regular charges to keep it topped up. Therefore, I’m wondering what type of battery would suit the 80hp Merc. ie leisure battery or a standard car battery ? reason for asking, I got a leisure battery on my She...

Happy New Year.

Pretty sure I won’t be alone in posting Happy New Year wishes to one and all, don’t think I’m far wrong in saying 2021 will be a better year with the positive news of the vaccine roll out, so we can all enjoy the forthcoming boating season which was greatly missed last year.
