Re: Ford crossflow engine
1300 + 1600 (kent engine, Alan Worters) are same except for stroke, 1600 block is roughly 7/16" taller. A 1600 bored to + 90 will give almost 1700cc. if using a later 711m block use 1300 pistons to increase compression. Dont confuse with Later Valencia designated models (reverted back to 3 main bear...

Re: Anchorage Sportsman query
Lakelandrose, given the fact you state the current owners paid £5k and now want nearly £20k almost answers your question does it not? For me its about loving and restoring classic boats, not profiteering. Many owners spend thousands of pounds without a hope of getting their money back. Personally I'...

Re: Albatross 2 or 4 seater prices
Welcome to the mad world of classic boating. It may be worth looking for an Alloy Delta, they were very similar to an Albatross, but little bigger (can squeeze three in). They were also powered by ford engines, 1500 pre x flow, can be tuned to 100+ hp and also very reliable. I have an Albatross (2se...

Re: windscreen
Hi Ian, if your up my way more than welcome to take measurements off mine or I could send some? I think mine is slightly higher than original but it looks ok to me. Old one broke into many bits which is another reason not to use Perspex, it shatters! Thanks for vote of approval Tony, looking forward...

I'm with Rapier, polycarb is so cheap and workable and can be heat formed if needed.
My moonfleet screen cost £26 in 5 mm uv lexan.

Re: Alloy paints.
Nitromors is rubbish these days. Get some "starchem" or similar make (Dichloromethane) from auto refinishers.
Usually in 5 ltr tins about £25. It's pro use only, gloves and mask are a must.

Re: Alloy paints.
Go to a good auto refinishers. Acid etch primer is two part 1 to 1 mix. Hb body make an aluminium filler.
For finish use 2 pack or 21 line, must use an AIR FED MASK! 2 pack paint and etch primer is deadly.

Re: River Ouse Rally
Where would we be without bilge pumps heh David? I Must just say a big thank you to Chris Harris who pushed my request for a york meet and for supporting "up north" events. Yes we had a look over what was left of the Fairline on Sunday, I just hope he had it well insured because there was not much l...
