You know of course that along with Mike T you're now considered 'centre of expertise'; now if there'd been pics... :D

Re: Area 31 Racing Team - Classic Hydroplane Racing

Very nice site..and all the work to restore them... The boats scare the hell out of me though; guess it's something you get used to when you're young and fearless! ...doing those speeds with your mug a few inches above that hard water...

Need a picture of a Schultze for the club...got any available?

Re: Johnson Shaft Bits Wanted

Well done. That knob is for millions of OMC owners to twiddle and shake their heads when their engines don't run proper like...Screw it in too far and is curtains for the needle.

Elmer Carl did away with things like that in the early 1950's. :wot:

Itchen River, Southampton

Launchsite is: Crosshouse Road, Southampton, S014 5GZ. The slipway is shallow but wide (and slippery....) it has no mooring / pontoon facilities and has drop offs on both sides with long concrete (immersed) fingers running into the sea on either side. At low tide the slipway is half it's width (see ...

Re: Wanted - Merc 300/400 lower unit

Have you tried Higham? They're very expensive for used parts though (3x autobox 22/25hp Mercs in disrepair offered to for 800 quid..), so it is more likely to prove cheaper to bring in something from the states.

Late 50's maybe early 60's, about 16ft, flat bottomed, transom built wide enough for twins - moulded seats and polystyrene bouyancy. This pic was taken of the only other I knew of.

Re: Itchin and Scratchin run - May 24th

Great run and company today - super weather courtesy of last night's chicken sacrifice, lots of wailing (fortunately no beating of breasts) and much sprinkling of Tennants Extra. Was a bit more choppy out there than normal, so excuse the moving horizon in the vids..is not easy to keep a hand on the ...
