Re: Shakespeare Mustang
Sinbad good luck for Wednesday keep spike busy! £500 seems a very good price. The engine alone is probably worth that much. From your original post I guess you want something you can use straight away not another project, If it doesnt meet your needs it may be worth posting it in the sales/wants cat...

Re: Shakespeare Mustang
I bought a Waverider Mustang about a year ago which I believe is a later version of the Shakespeare Clubman. The boat has turned into a bit more of a project than I expected :grrr: . So far I have replaced the transom packing, the stringer braces and the floor. The transom packing was not severely r...

Re: Thames Rally
Thanks Terry for organising a cracking day out. The weather was perfect, the company good and every lock was in our favour. Someone must be going to hell. Thanks also to the band of folks who pitched in for launch and recovery. Had a great time burned a massive 3 litres of petrol and no oil, not bad...

If you just want to buy perspex or polycarbonate sheet from which to make your own screen give Aquarius plastics a call

I found them very competitive.

Re: Chertsey Meeting
Just like to add my thanks to David for an excellent day at Chertsey, he always says "ahh it's nothing really" and spends the whole day running around after us. Thank you David. I seem to have escaped unscathed, no damage, and a small tweak coaxed a massive 1mph extra out of the old girl. Good to se...

Re: Shakespheare?
Forgot to mention I spent a bit of time working out the screen shape using copious amounts of 3mm hardboard. I ended up with a screen slightly taller than an original which doesnt look quite so sleek but offers a bit more protection to my already knackered mug. I can send you a full size autocad fil...

Re: Shakespheare?
I recently did the transom job on my waverider Mustang (a later Shakespeare Clubman) definately work on the inside as the sage Rapier says you can hide mistakes. It looks like you have already made a start by cutting open the top edge. I used a dremmel with 1 inch diamond wheel to cut out the casing...

Re: grp work to floor
Very rough rule of thumb is to allow same weight of resin as cloth so 4sqM 600gsm cloth =2.4KG resin you can reduce this quite a lot but always best to be prepared some weaves and woods soak up less or more. for glassing onto wood I use SP systems Ampreg 21 which has a very low viscosity so keys wel...

Re: Screen material
I have'nt tried Broom yet so will give them a go.
My material I bought from Aquarius is tinted perspex. I have used the plastic shop for work materials but they didnt list sheets big enough for my screen.
Cheers all
