Fascinating - I assume the gel coat is the liquid being applied at the same time as the fibre glass fabric is laid down. For some reason I thought is was a separate process. I'm not old enough to have owned a Granada, but my old man had a cortina with real wood for a dashboard :D

Thats great information - forgot to ask - can it take several seconds / even minutes before water comes out of the tell tale? Or should it be instantaneous?
