Owen's 13' Runabout for sale (Now on Ebay)
Now on Ebay. Hello All I have decided to sell my Owens 13' project. Other projects have come to the fore, and I doubt that I will get around to finishing it. The progress to date can me found in my previous posts. Most recently I have refitted the deck using Silaflex 291 and pop rivets, hence I didn...

Re: Mercury spares gaskets and decals. New Home Wanted
Hello
I am restoring a 1963 Merc 500 cloud white and a 1965 Owens Brisbane. Are the Mercury parts still available?
Best regards

Re: 13' Owens runabout
Well, after managing to turn the hull over I spent several days applying gel coat, rubbing down, applying, rubbing down .... Then applied a flow coat to finish. The hull now looks considerably better. There are still some high spots but as these probably originated in the mould I'm not going to worr...

Re: 13' Owens runabout
Using some lateral thinking I managed to turn the hull over. I put two tyres under the transom and pushed it over in a back flip with a 360 spin when vertical, and then back down in the same direction. This was whilst my father held the rope shackled to one of the forks on our forklift. Much easier ...

Re: 13' Owens runabout
Although slow, I am making progress. The bearers are in and I am fitting the cross braces. Before I fit the new floor I wondered if it would be prudent to turn the hull over and carry out any filling / gel repairs that were needed. However the hull is heavier than it looks I I could not turn it over...

Re: 13' Owens runabout
Progress ! Now the temperature has crept above 15 degrees on a couple of days I've been able to make some progress. The new transom is in and the floor bearers are done and have been glassed in yesterday. Once the resin has gone off I'll do the final levelling of the bearers before adding the cross ...
