Re: Good Source of Mercury/Mariner and OMC spares
Thank you Solitaire for your recommendation.
I telephoned Redline Outboard Services for some gaskets for my 1970s Mercury 50 yesterday mentioning the CMBA forum recommendation. They had them in stock and I received them in the post this morning. Brilliant service!

Re: BCMBR Windermere speed limit
The Speed limit exemption last year was for two race days of the Windermere Motor Boat Racing Club, not the BCMBR Rally. The WMBRC has applied for exemptions for this year. The BCMBR has not to date applied for an exemption for this years rally. The National Park states that it is extremely unlikely...

Re: Anchorage Sportsman query
Being a teenager on Windermere in the 60s, The Anchorage Boats have a special place in my mind and are quite rare now. Very rarely do I see one for sale. However if you've not got a special interest in Windermere then the Anchorage name will not be special . It does not have the cache of Riva, Chris...

Re: Thames Traditional Boat Rally
I discussed aluminium, plywood and fibreglass boat entries with their president a little time ago. His comment was that they already had too many boats coming ie 200+ and therefore opening up the criteria further would place even more pressure on maximum numbers. That was the reason why they didn't ...

Re: Speed Week, Coniston
You will be pleased to hear that Gina Campbell visited the K777 team (New build to the Bluebird drawings with Orpheus engine) on the Friday of Speed Records Week and viewed the project and their run attempt. The project now has the family support. Problems with getting the boat to run satisfactorily...

Re: Coniston power boat record week 29 october-november
Hi Howstar Anyone can launch from the watersports centre but during speed records week you will not be welcome. it is run early November as there is little other traffic about. The Speed Record Team essentially take over the Watersports Centre area. Other than record attempts there is a 10mph speed ...

Re: Twin SU Manifold for ford crossflow
My understanding is that Albatross started with two SUs with their early side valves then pretty soon went over to one (possibly larger) SU as being more reliable and not producing the same tuning problems. Both my 1956 side valve two seater and my A105 two seater with 1500GT engine both have single...
Re: Car Mill
Hi Howard Last time I saw the Commodore at Carr Mill she told me that although they had a date pencilled in no one had contacted them from the CMBA and nothing was organised. Unless you know otherwise, I suspect if you turn up no one will be there unless the CMBA have been in contact and have public...
