Re: Rope-ladder & Calgary Aquaplane - BN24

I once came off and it started to dive quicker than a Croation footballer, embedding itself into the sand and bringing the boat (an 11ft Dory) to an immediate halt. All because the lookout was looking the wrong way and talking to the driver.

Rope-ladder & Calgary Aquaplane - BN24

After fifty-nine years and five generations, our family holiday home in Pevensey is being sold. As a result, I'm having a clear out and have: A rope ladder with wooden rungs that came with a Pearly Miss in the late 60s.... A Calgary Aquaplane. I've never seen another, but do know P G Woodhouse menti...

The camera makes it look worse than it is. As it appears to be the only suitable prop in 3,000 miles it will have to do....

Does this prop look right to you?

I've just fitted this prop to my engine and it just doesn't look right to me - the 'cupping' of the leading-edge looks to me like it's in the wrong direction. What thinks thee? It could just be that I'm not used to looking at LH props. https://plus.google.com/photos/118135935629456979575/albums/6207...

Re: Russell Powerboats, Yateley, Hants

It is deceptively shallow - just 5' - 6' in many places. The big wakeboats can't have an awful lot of water under them.

Russell Powerboats, Yateley, Hants

I recently spent a morning at Russell Powerboats in Hampshire. It is usually used for wakeboarding / jetskis and [a limited number of] non-members are only allowed to use it during the week. £50 for four hours (morning or afternoon). Need to show insurance documents. Nice gentle slip with versadock ...

Re: Pin-drive props?

It turns out I'm looking for rocking-horse poo because I'm looking for LH props. ...the answer is to buy the more-readily available RH props (e.g., from OMC electro-shift engines) and change the controls so that 'forward' and 'reverse' are swapped. The gears in the gearbox are identical and the manu...

Pin-drive props?

My Invicta Jupiter (which was for sale but now I am going to keep because of potential buyers who are pain  ) uses pin-drive props. These - especially used ones - seem as rare as the proverbial rocking-horse deposits. Does anyone know of a good way to track these down? Even one of the hubs wou...

For sale: 1972 Invicta Jupiter 5.0 130 GT

This is a boat from the 1970s, fully restored to a high standard by the previous owner (from whom I purchased it last autumn). I have fiddled with the boat since then but despite living with half a mile of Littlehampton slipway haven't had a chance to use it; to be honest I need the space on the dri...

Re: Invicta Jupiter 5.0, I/B

Thank you De Novo, that is some cracking gen. Claiming comparisons to an E-type is a bit big-headed of them!
