Re: Albatross p-bracket

For what it's worth, I used stainless steel countersunk with hex socket heads (easier to get out later) with a good amount of sikaflex to seal and form an electrolytic barrier.

Re: Albatross Mark 3 fuel pump

Not difficult, it’s for an SU low pressure pump. It fits on that bracket pointing backwards. The outlet with a gravity non return valve inside sits at the top. Options? Buy a new one from Burlen or check eBay, but one and a rebuild kit from Burlen. Are they reliable? Well…. Known to be sticky at tim...

Re: Galvanic corrosion on Pearly Miss

I’ve done some checking and it seems that “Galvanic Isolators” place a block in the Earth lead which, from what I can tell is probably four diodes in bridge format, ie two pairs in series but back to back. This gives a 1.2 volt barrier so there is no galvanic current path. For all other purposes the...

Re: Galvanic corrosion on Pearly Miss

Galvanic corrosion needs contact between two metals which are apart on the periodic table and moisture. The same materials can cope if it’s wet, different materials if it’s dry. Two or more different materials and moisture equals problem. I think there are two issues here, one at the switch body whi...

Re: can any one identify this boat

Looking at the transom it's strange. You can see where the original holes were. Below that is another set of holes which looks like it could have been modified for an outdrive, lastly the plate has been properly riveted.
Strange - did the seller know any history?
