Re: Saturn bottom bolt
Sorry, I may be too late with this post, but have a look at this site for whitworth thread, brass setscrews and all fixings. He buys surplus stocks of fixings and keeps a stock of all sorts of odd fixings in different metals. Look on his "Everything Else" page, there is a good selection of oddments ...

Re: Timing/Synch/idle speed on merc 40 redband
Hi, I don't know if you have already got this, but below is a link to a PDF of the Operation and Maintenance Manual for your engine. It shows an Idle adjustment screw and describes how to set it (pages 30/31). http://download.brunswick-marine.com/download/dosearch/@isnew/desc?mod=4&lang=EN&categorie...

I know that the recommended gross weight for a caravan is 80% of the unladen weight of the towing vehicle. I know that that is the Government recommendation and I think that it is what the Caravan Club used to recommend. It certainly doesn't give you much scope for towing a boat with a Midget.

Re: STAINLESS PENNANT FLAG POLE
I've just seen a pole that may do for you on the site below. It's 12mm dia, so it's just a fraction narrower (1/2"=12.7mm) and I don't about the quality of the fittings, but it may be worth enquiring about. http://www.ridethewaves.co.uk/p-446-stainless-steel-boat-rail-mount-pennant-staff-12mm.aspx B...

I would say that was a cut down Microplus 16 MKIV, from the mid 60's, the same as my own.

Re: Albatross : electrolytic corrosion on expansion water tank?
Hi All, have a look at this site if you fancy having a go at repairing it yourself. I have used these brazing rods myself with good results. I have always well cleaned up the repair area first, with a stainless steel wire brush, I don't think I would take a chance not doing that. These rods used to ...
