Had the Webbers on my boat but took them off after a few evenings due to the carbs iceing up went back to the SUs, The damp air in the evenings on a Scottish loch was too much for the Twin Webbers, Pity after all the work to make the manifold.

Gel Coat is best but a couple of coats of good wax polish can help to keep your boat in good condition.

Be very carful when heating the alloy, too much heat will change its structure of the alloy. Before using a flame try a hot air gun. It is not a good idea to use a hammer on the unit as this will compress the alloy and damage the assembly best to use a puller with steady pressure. You could try heat...

Trailer tyre size and load rating has to be watched. Most trailers are not designed for long motorway runs. On my Albatross built trailer we very quickly decided to upgrade the wheel size and hub/bearings as the originals were too small causing them to everheat in less than 50 miles.

As has been said before rollers cause local pressure on the hull they also require the boat to be tied down with greater force which makes the problem worse. On the none gearbox installation which most boats were on the Sumbeam engined boats (engines faceing forward).
