Re: Albatross prop removal

The layout of the shaft, the split sleeve, captive nut in the propeller is standard. The fettling on the sleeve is to give more friction between it and the prop, rather than the shaft, so that it comes with the prop easily. If the prop starts coming off the sleeve, use heat to expand the prop and th...

Re: My Albatross MK III looses cooling liquid

Two thoughts. 1. Have you checked the bottom of the boat for aany leaks from the skin tanks. 2. have you checked the waterpump for any leaks through the seal? I fill my header tank fairly full, but I have an overflow pipe very firmly pushed over the outlet pipe on the tank, which goes down almost to...

Re: Albatross A series Fuel Filler

As a follow up to the Filler Capsaga, it is held down by a spring, which hooks into the shackle in the photograph, and ahole in the top of the filler pipe on the fuel tank. mine has broken in two places, so I have had to replace it, with one I found via Google, from a company called Associated Sprin...

Sorry they are too big!! I will have to have a word with someone, and come back
Yours,
Tim

Re: Albatross A2 in the water

Very well done, it looks a super job. I am delighted to see the proper structure to support the "P" bracket. Comparing it with my Mk. 3, I am very interested to see the different cocnctruction of the longitudinals and the frames in the botom of the engine room. I am interested by the large hole in t...

Re: British Power Boat Company or Not?????

I regret that I have not come across British Power Boat small craft before, I am more used to their M.T.B.'s and M.GB.'s, but it looks like those in their brochure. The construction is standard for that time, The Perkins engine might be a later fitting, as most pre-war boats had petrol engines. If y...

Re: Albatross A series Fuel Filler

Dear Jaguar, By chance I have just had to take the fuel tank out of my Mk. 3 Albatross No 419, and have the filler cap on my desk. As Johnd said it is 2 1/4" O.D., with the top rim, which sits on the deck 1/8" thick, and a spigot 3/8" deep protruding into the deck filler pipe, with a petrol proof ru...
