The smaller Mercury 44 cubic inch engines were not to be counted out either. In the USA and Canada these engines with the same basic block casting from 30 to 40 and 44 cubic inch for class C,D,E and FE Modified are very much part of the North American racing scene in both hydro and runabout classes ...
