Thanks for the kind words, and the wheel label.
Things have moved on, I borrowed some oil radiators and heated the garage (in mid May!) so have got the epoxy on and now its all sanded back.
Varnish and paint next and then time to put back the deck fittings.
What's best sealing-wise on wooden decks for cleats etc , a little epoxy or one of the sealants you can buy?

Either that's a very big boat or a very small landrover!!!!
Coming on really nicely, I am a bit behind you but not far, hope to epoxy my deck at the weekend if warm enough, been
in-laying my stainless trim sheet on the bow, taken a bit of work but getting there, I will update next week.

Ooh a toy lander My brother-in-law is part way through making one (I've got to make him a wooden steering wheel)
I use a product called CT1 on my deck fittings, it's a good all round sealant/adhesive and it's non silicone so it can be sanded and over painted, plus it cleans up well with a bit of white spirit.

I think Sikaflex is much the same but I've never used it myself.

Re: Penn Craft Restoration
I recommend CT1,my wife reckons that our house is held together with it And I have used it on the boat as well
no matter how bad it is,it can always get worse,I'm an optimist

Varnish on.
In the end I used Wickes dense foam mini-rollers and tipped off with Rustins foam brushes (I think they are called Jenny brushes)
Enjoyed the Epifanes website advice about dust being the enemy and how one of their customers varnishes naked listening to vivaldi. I didn't, but did go topless and wore a shower cap!

A major flurry of activity with white paint on and the arrival of a shiny new trailer means its almost there.
Thanks to all that have offered help and advice without which I'd have really been stuck.
