3rd Hamble Rally

Post by Rapier »

We will run this informal rally during 22nd, 23rd and 24th June 2018. Let me know (as a 1st pass), whether you're interested in attending & boat size please. We had dinner at the Water's Edge Restaurant last year and the year before - let me know if you're happy to eat there again on the night of the 23rd June, so I can book there too.

If you can organise fine weather and slight seas that would be good too.

Me too Rapier!
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

Thanks for organising this rally again, it was great last year, so have booked with the Riverside Holidays Campsite, Judith says "3 booked from the CMBA and they get very busy at that time, so please book early" so looking forward to this year!

The word "Cinderella" has, by analogy, come to mean one whose attributes were unrecognized,
or one who unexpectedly achieves recognition or success after a period of obscurity and neglect.

So far I have the following numbers...I found out The Water's Edge has closed recently, so will be hunting for an alternative, possibly The Victory (a pub 10mins walk to the old village from the campsite)...if anyone has any other preferences let me know.

Rob - 15ft Fairey Cinderella
Phil / Clive - 17ft Stapley Ski Hawk

Paul - 16ft Dateline Bikini
Nick - 12ft Shakespeare Mini Clubman

Dave - 14ft Shakespeare Magnum
Phil - 14ft Fletcher

A big thank you from all, Nick for organising a great weekend and booking the fabulous weather.
Everyone had a good time,on the Hamble River, making it over to Cowes on Saturday and Sunday to the Beaulieu River, stopping at Beaulieu Marina, where we had lunch at The Master Builder's hotel.
