Broom Scorpio Gel coat repair

Hi i have a broom scorpio and she has a stunning blue gel coat the only problem is that the last owner failed to use fenders and in some places she has been rubbed back almost to the glass fibre, i would love to know how best to repair the damage i can upload pictures if this helps, i am henley on thames based.

Hi Laurence, welcome to the forum. Gelcoat repair is a black art but simple if you can get the right colour match - some companies do small pots of colour and repair kits, Big G I think is one. Broom (see posts further down) themselves may be able to help. Practical Boat Owner magazine did a good article last year on gel coat repairs, call them if you want to get the back issue. If you really want the bible on fibreglass (IMO) get Hugo du Plessis', Fibreglass Boats (ISBN 0-7136-6209-3) - it deals with everything, but has large sections devoted to the joys of gelcoat.
Fasten bra straps and remove dentures...
