what is teleflex steering?

Post by sooty »

hi,
apologies if spelling is not quite correct is teleflex steering a single cable for want of a better word
i'm trying to convert my broom into teleflex it originally had a cable running from both sides
i've got an old donor boat and i'm trying to fix the teleflex onto the broom but the cable is too short can you get different lengths of cable or do you have to buy a whole new system?
the cable on the broom was the only existing mechanicals on the boat and it was well past it's sell buy date
thanks in anticipation

Teleflex is just a brand name of the cable maker there are others like steerflex that also make the same type of cable. If it were me I would go with a new system instead of using an old one just to be on the safe side, they are not that expensive and when you buy the whole kit it only works out about €30 more than the cable on it's own, you can get them just about any length.
