Boat safety scheme - glass bowl replacement

Post by LaDauphine »

I am getting the Chris-craft through the BSS to enable use on the Thames.

Post first inspection, there were lots of little things, mostly done. I need a driptray under the carbs for example, which i can get made locally. There are a few other simple things, like marking the locations of master switch, fuel cock etc.

The spanner in the works at the moment is that the glass fuel bowl is not allowed - it must be a metal one. Since the fuel filter is integral with the lift pump, i can't just take it out, replace it or bypass it.

this won't be a problem unique to me.

Does anyone know where i may be able to get a metal one of the same size and spec, or does it need to be specially made?

Thanks

Richard
