Galvanic Isolator - Truth ???

Post by neilgreenfield »

Hi
One of my boats is steel hulled 1965 cruiser.. i wish to have 240v shore power, but am concerned about galvanic isolation.. i have an understanding of electronics etc, and am failing to see how an GI does its magic.. or is it a marine toy, i dont really need...?
Any ideas or experts?
thank you
neil

PM Puddleduck on this Neil, he does anodes etc. for a living. :notworthy:
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!
