Chris Craft 1937 re-commissioning

Post by barneyagusta »

We have recently completed the purchase and import of a 1937 Chris Craft Runabout. She was restored in 2006 and has not been in the water since.
Next steps are to get her re-commissioned ready for use so that we can come along to the various club meets.

Can anyone point us in the right direction for someone or a company who can assist us, the bottom needs soaking (not mine) but as we have a hosepipe ban that seems impossible.
Engine was run recently and inspected, so seems fine but again would be worth a quick check.

Any help would be most appreciated
Finally we live near Brighton

Well done on getting the boat...here's a thought, I don't think the Portsmouth Water Co have a ban so you could ring around some of the yards in the area, Chichester and West of there. The boat will dry a bit between launches so suggest make sure you have really good bilge pump(s)
Growing up is optional...

Youy will recall that we spoke recently.

you can always use buckets! a little and often before launching.
