Good to see some more Almarine's coming out of hibernation.
The General Lee boat could be a Spitfire (9ft version of the Seafire).
There's a new facebook page for all fans and owners of Almarine boats https://www.facebook.com/groups/AlmarineSeafire/
Tim, look forward to hearing more about your "bought unseen" boat :) Certainly looked good from the pics you sent.

Last test run on my Meteor went well but impeller needs repitching so fitting a rev counter to see what revs she's pulling and we'll go from there in the quest for 40 knots. :wot:
Engine bay is now painted. New windshield and carpet are next on the list along with the impeller mods.

Hi I have a two stage UA jet pump for sale if anyone is interested, bought for a Buccaneer but did not fit and then found out all the wood in the hull was rotten. Hrrumph

Nope, its an Aquajet 60 by Jetwave. Approx 60hp from the little aluminium block 4 pot, which can be easily turbo'd using standard parts from the cars :)
400lbs of thrust from the jet (about 50 more than the meteor, but a shorter hull).

My mate has one and has the original owners manual for it. Can put you in touch if you're interested.
Really nicely built (I would say overbuilt) boat, which was clearly a later take on the Meteor, and addressed some of the Meteor's little niggling faults.

Havent done an update for a while as been busy working on and using the Meteor. Its seen a fair bit of action and even went out in the Severn Estuary last year, which is about the sketchiest stretch of tidal water you can go boating in. Safe to say the engine starts and runs super reliably now, and is pretty economical on fuel.

Hi I have recently bought what I think is an aqua jet 60 by jet wave ,and wondered if anybody has any information on them as its not running at the moment and looks like the engine has been changed to a 1400cc Citroen with twin choke carb.would love to get it going again. Thanks Jim

Hi Jim, did you email me about getting hold of a workshop manual for it? A friend of mine has one and i've asked him several times for it but he's been a bit busy recently. Will keep trying.
Please post some pics up so we can ID the boat.

So, the wee jet boat has been to the paint shop. All stress cracks and chips were filled beforehand. Came out really good. Used Epifanes 2K Polyurethane Epoxy, which is pretty much the same as the original gel coat in terms of hardness and durability. Will actually be a lot more resistant to UV that the original gel coat. The shine is incredible, it really has that "wet look" about it.

Now for the fun part... bolting all the bits back on.
