Arun Run this Saturday - Any more takers?

Post by Rapier »

Hoping to take DIXIE and test an engine - Broombroom is probably dreading it...(there will be backup power, a la the SMOKEMONSTER II).

Honestly tho', we welcome any late comers for a nice slow burble up the Arun...Convivial travel in convoy, a pleasant lunch and maybe some sea time for those boats that can handle it and a test for those that maybe can't, but help nearby...

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the water.

Have you tried that chap who values Fairey's, I think he might be based in the Chichester area, I think Geoff will know of him as he has a bit of a thing about old Fairey's himself.

Actually old chap, I've completely forgotten where it's at since last year and wonder if you could put up the post code or the address.

 Al

Alacrity has two Faireys now, one in his garage and the other is conveniently kept at work. That's the one the other Fairey fancier, Puddleduck, has his eye on.

I'd hate to think that some poor chap is sitting in boating purgatory (the equivalent of billy-no-mates) while we're having fun on the water, so everyone's welcome - after all, if I can fit in, anyone can.

I think this is the place, if it isn't let me know:-

Broombroom is probably dreading it...
...far from it!

Disappointed that 'Gina' didn't make it though - would've been the ideal christening :(

See you on the slipway

Just spent 2 hours trying to find my insurance papers...started with the boat file, the un-files, the kitchen pile, the car pile, then the sitting room pile..phew, lucky me... was not looking forward hunting in the outside pile (lean-to) or the garage which stinks of outboard gearbox oil.

Slipway it is..will post ETA later.

Hi Nick. Thanks for posting the address link, should have thought of that myself :grrr: Have spoken to the captain, he's OK with location. Unfortunately it is now the magnificent 6 and not 7! Martin and Sandra are unable to make it. If anyone has any queries or problems give me a buzz at home or on the day on my mob 07703 221980. Fingers crossed the weather cheers up a bit, see you all on Saturday.
Brian.
