Cholmondeley Pageant of Power - 18/19 July

Post by Simonp »

Does anyone know anything about this event wich takes place in Cheshire - classic cars and boats.

How do you enter - are our boats likely to get on the water - whats the format.

Has anyone ever been before?

Simmonds fitted from new with what, I believe, is the only running factory marinised Daimler 2.5 litre V8 (as fitted to the Daimler SP 250) in the UK. Please let me know if you find another! Believed to be Norman Buckley's race boat.

Simon - sent you a PM
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

We went last year.

The rain didn't help, and there were many teething problems, some of which, such as the pedentrian bottleneck of the bridge, are being solved this year.

If you go in the expecation that you will have very little, or no, opportunity to use your boat on the lake, then you will probably have a good time.

Beware that, if you camp on the sunday night, everything is closed and they take the toilets away....

I was rather hoping that the CMBA could go under its banner with at least 6 boats and make a bit of a presence - that seems unlikely with just over a month to go.
