Is anyone up for this date? Weather / tides permitting is great fun and offers the oppurtunity to test run your boat in company.
Here are the details of the run we did on March 15th, all welcome - including 'foot' passengers.

Re: Itchin and Scratchin run - May 24th
I think I may have to work really really hard to cancel a previous engagement ....... 73Miss will need a support boat to tow him home and it'd be a shame to miss the opportunity
Just remembered something - yesterday I left my Delta 160 miles east of here. Guess I'd better collect it right quick!

that is somebody's birthday, guess who! so not sure yet on that. Could be on " big boat" anyway as its bank holiday weekend in celbration of the big day so perhaps take shaky down too and have either, BF can tow home any casualties!

I will def be up for it, I may take the Broom for it's 1st outing this year - on the other hand it is ideal water for the 'freight train' . . .
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!
Re: Itchin and Scratchin run - May 24th
Carvalin due to be ready although not finished next weekend. Would have loved to have come down, but I feel that a pootle up the Thames might be a slightly more sensible approach Fingers crossed.

Re: Itchin and Scratchin run - May 24th
Here are the details:-
Launchsite is: Crosshouse Road, Southampton, S014. 9h30 (or earlier) meet in carpark. The slipway is shallow but wide (and slippery....) it has no mooring / pontoon facilities, so we'll work out a launch sequence on the day that sees the deeper draft and more fagile boats looked after.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msa=0& ... 3&t=h&z=16
Carpark is shown, the pay and display machine will take coins and cards. I think was about £4 for the day. Cars can be parked in the carpark, trailers to one side of the slipway. Bring locks / clamps.
Tides

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/coast/tide ... &loc=0063B
Weather
http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/11?area=SO14
Jolly Sailor Lands End Road, Old Bursledon, Southampton, SO31 8DN. Their pontoon is shown - if the weather is nice there can be other boats and we may have to raft up, so bring fenders. Plan is to get there by 12. As it's a bank holiday, it may be packed and we cannot book an outside table...
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msa=0& ... 3&t=h&z=16
Hamble River speed limit from the markers at the entrance to the upper reaches is 6 knot / no wash zone. The Harbour Master is vociferous about this...and as there are pontoon moored yachts all the way along we need to be very considerate. From experience I think is about 35mins to get from the mouth to the Jolly Sailor.
Harbour dues I think these will be about £4 if asked for.....will check this one..

If the weather is not good enough to go up the Hamble we'll have a blast, slip and eat later at the Victory in Hamble.
Let me know numbers - that includes anyone wanting to be a pax, as I am sure there will be spaces (bring a lifejacket). Any questions, ask.

Re: Itchin and Scratchin run - May 24th
Numbers thus far are 11 adults and 5 kids with 6 boats - if anyone else interested please let me know. Dogs are ok at the Jolly Sailor (outside) if you have a problem leaving them at home...
Only other point of note is NOT to come off the M27 at Jct8....there is always a car boot sale on Sundays at the top of Hamble Lane near Tesco (Burseldon Towers store) and the traffic backs up to Jct8 and beyond on days when the weather is fine.

Dogs are also OK inside the Jolly Sailor except in the restaurant end.
- although getting inside the Jolly Sailor at all on a Sunday will be a challenge!
Cheers

Agree! We hope to be up there by 11h30 like last time.. (it only opens at 12) and will be coming by 'sea', so should be OK.
Are you able to make it?
