Boat Insurance

Post by broompisces »

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good boat insurer please? I'm tired of plodding through online quote forms from websites only to be told at the end of the process "Sorry, due to the age of your vessel, we are unable to quote". :grrr:

Doing the same here, have a look at Navigattos and General who have an on line third party only offer at about £80

Thanks Diomedea - I got all the way through with them online and they quoted £153 odds for fully comp. Then they phoned me and said they'd need a surveyor's report because of the age of the boat (1968).

Try GJW, mention CMBA, they quoted me 166.73 fully comp for my Contiental, no mention of survey.

If you want only 3rd party there is also Basic Boat Liability insurance, on line or through an office.

If this isn't too late, try CETA. My 1960 Owens 'Kent', plus the 1962 Merc 500 outboard has fully comprehensive cover for £87! That's not a typo. And no survey required.
Gaffer tape and WD40. There, a toolkit!

Thanks Spindrift - they were one of the ones that wanted a full survey.
