Albatross nav lights.

Post by Scott »

Apologies in advance but why does my Albatross have patriotic RWBlue front nav light and not the conventional RWGreen?
Is there an original fitting for stern light?

My goodness! a US light on an Albatross?
Given the light pattern I'd say it's more likely emulating the flag of the Philippines!
Hull 1018 so a fairy early Continental and I think the light type is described as a bullfrog, whatever the type it's certainly got that odd blue lens. It's pretty and fitted very well but still odd.

Is it an 'in joke' and the fitting is decorative? I have lots to learn about these super little boats.

More important work to do today fixing a substantial leak. Crew is flying home for the weekend and I'd better have things ready for her or I'll be tasked with less enjoyable work.

I bought a bi-colour bow-mounted nav light for my Owens from an American seller on Ebay. The green aspect is certainly a lot bluer than I was expecting! Must be an American thing.
Gaffer tape and WD40. There, a toolkit!
