Invicta Jupiter 5.0, I/B

Post by HughN »

Greetings (again),

You may well have seen it advertised on eBay recently but I have just acquired an Invicta Jupiter 5.0 with 130 hp i/b BMW engine.

Whilst I know some of the background to its origins, with BMW testing the water with boat engines, etc., I was actually interested in whether anyone else has one and could enlighten me with any idiosyncrasies or foibles that might appear at speed, etc.,? From contemporary reviews etc., I believe it is a well-handling and pretty-quick boat.

Is 1972 a 'classic'? Its's only two years younger than I am (and in much better nick).

This is from a 1974 book of sportsboats. They claim 50mph and waterski racing success-should be a good hull. There was one with the BMW engine in Falmouth 10 years ago,it was fast!

Thank you De Novo, that is some cracking gen. Claiming comparisons to an E-type is a bit big-headed of them!
